Questions people actually ask
Short answers. Where the honest answer is that it depends on the event, the answer says so and points at who to ask.
How far ahead does an entry usually close?
For the larger events, six to ten weeks. Club stands often fill before that, because the internal list closes first. Small local days are much more relaxed and sometimes take entries on the morning.
Is my ordinary classic policy enough for a show?
Usually for driving there and back, and often for the car standing on a field, but limited-mileage and use conditions vary a great deal. Ask the insurer for written confirmation that covers the event itself and, if relevant, transport on a trailer.
Do I need to be a club member to enter?
For most events, no. For a place on a club stand, almost always yes, and often with a minimum membership period.
Is a car judged if I do not enter a judged class?
No. Display entries are not ranked and receive no result. Judged classes are advertised as such and entered deliberately.
Can I leave early?
Rarely, and at many events not at all. Display areas are usually closed to movement for safety while the public is on site. On a club stand, leaving early is a matter for the club and is generally not welcome.
What does an indoor event mean by a fuel limit?
A maximum amount of petrol in the tank while the car is inside — commonly a quarter, sometimes less. It comes from the venue's fire conditions, and organisers cannot usually waive it.
Do you organise events or take entries?
No. We are not organisers, we have no involvement in any entry list, and we cannot get anybody a place anywhere.
